Hardware Store Dehumidifiers

"Yeah I got one of those hardware store standalones. They work great for about 18 months and then crap out. I've been tallying my costs and after almost 4 years I'm coming up on the cost of a professional grade unit anyway. I should've just grabbed one of those in the first place."

Time and time again we hear the same concept: I wanted to save money.

A good thought, but as I am sure you're well aware: not always an easy thing to do.

Buying a simple dehumidifier from the hardware depot will certainly save you some cash up front, but costs add up and you get what you pay for.

If you're fed up with paying out for lesser goods, then consider a Santa Fe Dehumidifier. They recently merged Ultra-Aire into their line-up and their options for standalone or whole-house dehumidification are looking great.

Santa Fe

Made in the U.S.A. by the same folks who make top trusted commercial brands like Quest and Phoenix; Therma-Stor has been making top-of-the-line Santa Fe Ventilating Dehumidifiers since 1977.

They also offer warranties that are unmatched in the industry. No other manufacturer comes close to matching it. After all, when you build a quality product, you’re not afraid to stand behind it.

Ventilating Dehumidifiers...?

Oh yeah, they exist. Taken directly from the manufacturer's website:

"A whole house ventilating dehumidifier is a dehumidifier designed to work with the home’s HVAC system to bring in outdoor air, which improves air quality by diluting indoor contaminates, all while dehumidifying the entire home to maintain a set relative humidity (RH) level. Santa Fe is the only manufacturer to offer a complete line of whole house ventilating dehumidifiers that are energy efficient and offer superior MERV-13 filtration."

While a common application in some areas of the U.S., you do not need to have a full HVAC system to take advantage of the benefits of fresh air.

How do I get one?

If you'd like us to deliver the unit, hang it and potentially run some duct work; you can fill out our dehumidifier estimate request or- if you're more of a DIYer -we can provide you with the unit, hanging kit and controller options from our office in Gray, ME. It's best to order a week or two in advance, due to CoViD supply isn't always immediate, though we do try to keep a few of the most common (Ultra70) in stock.

Give us a call or order one directly from our online store if you prefer.
